Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP)

Detail

Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP)

Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (hereinafter referred to as PCCP) is a new type of composite pipe. It is manufactured by first welding a thin steel plate and steel rings for socket-and-spigot joints into a steel cylinder. For the pipe core, concrete is poured both inside and outside the cylinder by vertical vibration; for small-diameter pipes, the pipe core can be formed inside the cylinder by horizontal centrifugal casting instead. After curing, circumferential prestressed steel wires are wound onto the surface

of the pipe core to introduce circumferential prestress in the concrete pipe wall. Finally, a protective mortar layer is sprayed onto the outer surface of the wire-wound pipe core.

PCCP is divided into two structural types:

One is Lined Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP?L), which is made by forming concrete on the inner wall of the steel cylinder, winding circumferential prestressed steel wires on the outside of the steel cylinder, and then spraying a protective mortar layer.

The other is Embedded Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP?E), which is produced by embedding the steel cylinder inside the pipe core concrete, winding circumferential prestressed steel wires onto the pipe core, and then applying a protective mortar layer by roller spraying.

Pipe Performance
  1. As a composite pipe, it integrates the advantages of steel plate and concrete. It is green and environmentally friendly with excellent impermeability and high pressure bearing capacity.

  2. 、The normal working pressure ranges from 0.4 MPa to 2.0 MPa, and the maximum working pressure can reach 4.0 MPa.

  3. It features good durability, long service life, low project cost and maintenance expenses, and is suitable for general weakly corrosive soil environments.

  4. The pipe has strong load-bearing capacity and high compressive performance.

  5. The joint is sealed with double rubber gaskets, providing excellent sealing performance, convenient installation and pressure testing, strong adaptability to soil foundations and excellent seismic resistance.

Application Scope

PCCP is the preferred pipe for long-distance, high working pressure, high overburden and large-diameter water transmission pipeline projects. It is widely used in large-scale interregional water diversion projects,

as well as water supply and drainage projects in municipal, industrial and agricultural fields.

Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe with Fine Aggregate Concrete Coating (C?PCCP)

Concrete Coating Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (hereinafter referred to as C?PCCP) is an improved version of the conventional PCCP pipeline structure. It mainly replaces the original roller?sprayed mortar protective

layer with a poured fine aggregate concrete protective layer. Other structures and manufacturing processes are the same as those of standard PCCP.

The purpose of the C?PCCP improvement is to adapt to different construction conditions, especially dry climates, alternate wetting?and?drying environments, and above?ground pipeline installations.

The fiber?reinforced fine aggregate concrete coating prevents cracking under such adverse conditions, thereby improving the durability of the pipeline. Other performance properties are identical to those of PCCP.

Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe for Jacking Construction (J?PCCP)

Jacking Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (hereinafter referred to as J?PCCP) is a new type of jacking pipe developed based on the structural characteristics of PCCP and the requirements of jacking construction.

Its basic structure is a prestressed concrete structure with a steel cylinder and socket?and?spigot joints. Measures are taken respectively for pipe body seepage control, joint seepage control, and resistance of the pipe body to internal water pressure and external loads.

Therefore, this jacking pipe has all the functions of traditional jacking pipes, plus the advantages of PCCP in withstanding high water pressure and excellent joint impermeability. It can directly replace traditional jacking pipes and internal casing pipes.

PCCP jacking pipe is a new type of pipe for jacking construction with broad application prospects and high overall cost performance.

J?PCCP is divided into two types according to different load?bearing structures:

One is the prestressed type, whose main load?bearing member is high?strength prestressed steel wire (same as standard PCCP);

The other is the non?prestressed type, whose main load?bearing members are the steel reinforcement cages inside and outside the steel cylinder.

Pipe Performance

In addition to the advantages of standard PCCP, such as excellent impermeability, high pressure bearing capacity, good durability and strong adaptability to foundations, this product also features the following characteristics:

  1. It can be directly connected with standard PCCP pipes. Both pipes have consistent rigidity and reliable joint sealing, avoiding water leakage caused by inconsistent deformation during operation.

  2. No casing pipe is required, which saves investment and speeds up construction progress.

  3. Reduces foundation load with reasonable technology and high safety.

  4. Mature and complete supporting technologies for design, manufacturing and construction.

Application Scope

This pipe is the preferred choice for crossing projects such as crossing highways, railways and buildings.

J-PCCP is widely used in large-scale water transmission projects between interregional water sources, water supply and distribution networks for tap water, industrial and agricultural irrigation systems, circulating water pipelines in power plants, various municipal pressure sewage mains and inverted siphons, etc.
